In IT IDEAS ON TECH
It's all about disruptive innovation and transformation. My big 5 IT Trends in 2020 and still continues in 2021are: Robotics Augmented Analytics ( Deep Learning) Blockchain Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cloud Computing Robotics Autonomous driving keeps popping up with robotics. (See the Boston Dynamics video on this site regarding robotics) Augmented Analytics: The true data-driven company. While organizations are rapidly adjusting to change, the significance of understanding data and business is more critical than ever.  In this era of big data, analytics has become vital to doing everything from understanding sales trends, to segmenting customers based on their online behaviours, and predicting how much inventory to hold.  Analytics is what makes data really valuable. Faster decision-making. Augmented analytics will recommend which datasets to include in analyses, alert users when datasets are updated, and suggest new datasets if users are not getting the results expected. All forecasts and predictions based on historical data in just one click. Artificial Intelligence (AI) As AI continues to mature, companies are pumping more investment into this technology: Robo Doctors - Growing role in automated diagnosis (AI Medical applications) New age Surveillance - (i.e: Face recognition etc) In War - Robotics is now on the front line (AI applications) UNEMPLOYMENT - (Some professions will be extinct ) Crime - (Rogue AI) Blockchain To put it simply in blockchain there is no need for a middleman, resulting in almost instantaneous operations with little or no fees. Plus, transactions carried out through blockchain are much more secure and transparent. There are 5 main areas of disruption with Blockchain: Banking (Cryptocurrency) Healthcare Real Estate Legal Industry Government Cloud Computing Cloud storage has never been cheaper. One of the most important cloud computing trends has been a serious drop in the price of storage. With companies able to maintain 1 TB of cloud storage for just few cents to the $, the savings are being passed on to the consumer in the best way possible. (IOT) Internet of Things: Now cars, household appliances, and equipment in manufacturing can communicate via the cloud. Growth Of Services: With the ability to take advantage of SaaS, PaaS, and Iaas, cloud computing continues to be wildly successful. New services keep evolving such as “Function as a Service” and “Backend as a Service” been added to the mix
